Last night I had the pleasure of attending the book launch of, IOWA: Echoes of a Vanishing Landscape by, David Ottenstein. I have enjoyed my friendship with David for almost 30 years and it was with so much admiration that I was able to enjoy his latest works. David's documentation of the cultural demise of a critical part of our country underscores the richness of our past. Each photograph is a story into itself, whether a broken window or a patinated stone wall, David's creative and original photographs ensure this architecture will never be forgotten.
